This Privacy Policy describes how RCurrencyConverter ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our application RCurrencyConverter for Android, iOS, Wear OS and watchOS (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 No Account. The App does not require registration and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other personal details.

1.2 Exchange Rates. The App downloads exchange rates and rate history from our server at rconv-api.rbv.nz, hosted on Cloudflare. If our server is unavailable, the App requests current rates from the public Frankfurter service instead. These are standard HTTPS requests for the same public data for every user: they contain no information about you or your currencies beyond the list of requested currency codes. As with any web request, the servers may log technical data such as your IP address.

1.3 Camera. On phones, the App may request access to the camera to recognize numbers in the camera view and convert them between currencies. Recognition runs entirely on your device (ML Kit on Android, Apple Vision on iOS). Camera images are not saved and are never sent to us or to anyone else. You can use the App without granting camera access.

1.4 Data on Your Device. Your currency list, entered amounts, currency pairs for charts, downloaded exchange rates and settings (such as the interface language) are stored locally on your device.

1.5 Configuration. The phone apps use Firebase Remote Config to receive the App configuration, such as the address of our rates server. Firebase may process a device installation identifier for this purpose.

1.6 Crash Reports and Analytics. The phone apps use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and technical diagnostics (device model, operating system version, App version and the state of the App at the time of the error). The iOS app also uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data, such as screen views and session duration. This data does not personally identify you and is used solely to fix errors and improve the App.

2. Watch Apps

The Wear OS and Apple Watch apps download exchange rates in the same way as the phone apps (see 1.2) and store your data on the watch. They do not use the camera and do not use Firebase.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes: to provide and maintain the App functionality, including up-to-date exchange rates; to analyze and fix crashes and bugs; to improve the App and user experience.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your currency list, amounts and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data and do not transmit it to our servers. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete such information.

7. Your Rights

You can delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App data in your device settings. You can revoke camera access at any time in your device settings.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
